Welcome

Dear Prospective Families,

Welcome to St. Genevieve Catholic School Website. My name is Ann Tonissen and I am the Princiapl of St. Genevieve Catholic School. It  is turly a joy to be part of this wonderful and supportive Catholic educational and faith community.

I also am a product of Catholic Education having been educated within the parish and school community of St.Mel’s. I am a graduate of Crestwood High School, earned my B.S degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University and my M.A. in Educational Leadership from Madonna University.

I have two wonderful sons who shared in the experience of Catholic Education in the communities of SS Peter and Paul in Detroit and St. Agatha in Redford.

I began my career in education as a second grade teacher in Seoul, Korea followed by a year as a third grade teacher at Ft. Rucker Elementary in Alabama. It was then that had had the opportunity and privilege to move into Catholic Education teaching middle/junior high students for many years. I have been blessed to serve in wonderful communities such as St. Mary, Westville-IL, SS Peter & Paul-Detroit, St. Agatha-Redford and All Saints-Canton. Upon entering the field of Admnistration, I have had the pleasure of working at St. Agatha, St. Alfred and currently St. Genevieve Catholic School.

It is my privilege to partner with your family in developing the skills and talents of your children by providing the best Catholic Education, rooted in strong Catholic values and traditions, and  thereby becoming part of the continuing  legacy of St. Genevieve Catholic School.

With warm regards,

Ann Tonissen – Principal
