Our monthly meetings are on the first Monday of each month at 6:30pm in the Fr. Wolber Activity Center….

The object of this organization shall be to promote the Spiritual sanctification of each member, to unite the women of the Parish in the spirit of friendship and cooperation, to care for the Altar, to serve the Parish community through numerous committees and functions and to provide financial assistance as needed for their equipment and maintenance.

The Women’s Sodality was chartered in 1959 and was originally called the Rosary Altar Sodality. It has been a vehicle for strengthening our community spirit within and outside the Parish Some activities over the years include: Christmas Bazaars; Arts and Craft Shows; Bake Sales; Raffles; Fashion Shows; Sacramental Receptions; special breakfasts; and installation dinners. The St. Maurice Women’s Guild has been an active organization for many years – aimed at organizing and performing many of the most important parish functions like the annual picnics, bake sales and special receptions. Both womens’ organizations have now come together to form a new, stronger maternal organization that will serve our parish family for years to come.

Responsibilities include: Altar care and cleaning; maintaining servers robes and Altar linens; decorating sanctuary; providing Baptismal stoles; hosting special receptions; maintaining kitchen and equipment; assisting Our Lady of Providence and other local nursing homes; and maintaining/decorating the Blessed Mother Shrine.

This Sunday is the Parish Blood Drive.  Don’t forget to go over to the Activities Center for your scheduled time for giving blood. If you haven’t made an appointment they will still take walk-ins.  The Red Cross nurses will be there from 9:00am until 3:00pm. Joanne Camiller was asked to chair this event and is hoping to have a good turn out. There is always such a great need for blood, please donate if possible.

Thanks to all who have donated time to work at the Fish Fry dinners. Remember to sign in and out and indicated that you are working for the Women’s Sodality. If you have any question or wish to sign up to work call or e-mail our coordinator, Judy (jlfanco@gmail.com). They are in need of baked items for desserts. If you are donating items please have them at the Activies Center Kitchen by 3:30 the day of the Fish Fry.

Our March meeting was changed to Monday, March 16th due to so many of our members attending the Christ Life series. The meeting is at 6:45pm at the Parish Center.

If you haven’t already turned in a Right to Life baby bottle bring it to this meeting.

As you know, we provide Easter baskets for Livonia Opportunity House and Angel House. We have been doing this for years. This year we have 6 men and 4 women at Livonia and 6 women at Angel House. Kleenex and calendars have already been pledged. Joanne purchased plastic household baskets (about 12 inches square) so we have some space to fill! We need everything else (shampoo, soap, deodorant, lotions, toothpaste, toothbrushes, chap stick, socks, combs, snacks, washcloths, towels, pens, paper etc.) Last year we collected enough dream catchers for everyone at Livonia House. We would like to give them to Angel House this year but we need 4 more (these were sent from an Indian Mission). We try to give the ladies a piece of jewelry or something special. We try to give the men baseball hats or flashlights etc.

Items can be put in the Sodality drawer but please mark them EASTER BASKETS. They can be brought to our Sodality meeting. They can also be dropped off on Joanne’s back porch. You can call her if you plan to drop anything off or if you would like to let her know what you plan on donating.  We appreciate your support and know the residents of these two homes do also.
