Our Lenten Friday’s Fish Fry Dinner http://saintgenevieve.org/church/fish-fry-volunteers-needed/ http://saintgenevieve.org/church/fish-fry-volunteers-needed/#comments Thu, 05 Feb 2015 22:30:24 +0000 http://saintgenevieve.org/church/?p=2307

Volunteers Needed!

The St. Genevieve-St. Maurice Lenten Fish Fry Dinners are a popular community event, providing an opportunity for parish and neighborhood families to share a meal and fellowship.

The help of each and every parish organization and parishioner is needed to make this event a success – please take a moment to choose a date and time to lend a helping hand – your efforts are sincerely appreciated!

There is a minor change in organizing volunteers this year – each parish group will organize its volunteers and submit a master list each week. Members can contact their organization to schedule Fish Fry volunteer time.

Families and individual parishioners can call or email their schedule using the below contact information or return your schedule to any parish office. High school students needing community service hours are welcome and everyone can bring a friend!

Thank you for your generosity in serving our parish and community!

Lenten Fish Fry Wrapup and Slideshow http://saintgenevieve.org/church/lenten-fish-fry-image-gallery/ http://saintgenevieve.org/church/lenten-fish-fry-image-gallery/#comments Mon, 28 Apr 2014 00:08:27 +0000 http://saintgenevieve.org/church/?p=2389 Thank you to all of our parishioners, their families and friends that attended our Lenten Fish Fries. We served over 400 meals each week! Volunteers from nine different parish organizations contributed 1039 volunteer hours to make our Fish Fry a huge success. These organizations will share in the over $8,000 of profit generated over the six Lenten Friday events.

Special thanks go to several volunteers who were there week after week getting the job done. Mark and Irene Zatirka handling the dining room setup. Al Cartier making the soup and clam chowder. John Tabone for shopping at GFS and working Thursday and Friday nights. Rick and Judi Fanco for taking care of the Costco purchases. Jim Biddinger for his help with Thursday night prep and cooking the specials on four of the six nights. Ray Johnson for his help and guidance throughout the weeks. Veronica Finch and Chris Stoll for handling the cashier duties. Karen Bonanno for her tireless
efforts in recruiting the 30-40 volunteers needed each week. Colleen Biddinger and Martha Schultz for keeping the finances in check. And Bob Carzon for all of his efforts on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday helping out with any and all of the tasks that needed to be done.

We really enjoyed the work and hopefully you enjoyed the Fish Fry. We look forward to doing it again next year.

It Is A Security Matter… http://saintgenevieve.org/church/it-is-a-security-matter/ http://saintgenevieve.org/church/it-is-a-security-matter/#comments Mon, 20 Jan 2014 13:38:05 +0000 http://saintgenevieve.org/church/?p=2265 It Is A Security Matter… when not being used. The locks to the Activities Center-Kitchen-School have been re-keyed.

Anyone using these areas:

  • Must come to the Parish Office for the entry key;

  • The key must be returned to the Parish Office after that days use;

  • No key is to leave the campus.

When the Parish Center renovation is completed, those locks will be re-keyed. In the interim, the current keys are operable.
