Your Prayers are requested: Please remember in your prayers all of our students preparing to be Confirmed this week, as well as their families, catechists and teachers. Thank you.

7th graders: Come and observe the Rite of Confirmation at the Wednesday, May 29th 7:00 pm Mass as the Candidates are Confirmed. Then join us for refreshments in the Activities Center. This will meet the requirement of one Sacrament report; but more importantly it will help your understanding of this Sacrament. Please be sure to sign-in when you come. Sign-in sheets will be near the bookcases in the gathering area.

Altar server training: Don’t forget to return your form for altar server training to the Religious Education office, the Rectory, or simply place the form in the collection basket at Mass by June 8th .

 2013 Target: $74,210.00

This weekend marks the beginning of our annual Catholic Services Appeal. We continue the theme of Sharing Christ in and through the Church for this year’s CSA, as God continues to meet the needs of the faithful through our local Church . Gifts to the CSA make possible a wealth of ministries, programs, and services that touch the lives of thousands of Catholics throughout the six counties of the Archdiocese of Detroit each day. These are blessings that benefit everyone in the Archdiocese, and that no one parish could provide on its own. The Catholic Services Appeal is a pledge program, allowing you to spread your gift over several months. Please prayerfully consider the most generous gift possible to support the 2013 CSA.

For information about CSA-funded ministries, programs, and services, please go to www.AOD.org.

Giving Options

Stop at the CSA Tables in the Gathering Space to fill out your pledge card.

Include your donation/pledge in the pink envelope received in your envelope packet. [Please be sure to fill in the outside of the envelope.]

Return the bottom portion of the parish letter that you receive through the mail.

Make your donation/pledge through the secure Online Giving site.

Use a credit card or set up ACH payments directly through the Archdiocese of Detroit. We need the help of every parishioner to meet our target this year. We need to continue to build up the Church especially at the time of struggle and worry.

Thank you for your generosity.

In lieu of a wrapped Christmas gift, we are asking you to make a donation of money or gift card. Please know that your contribution will help to provide what is most needed thought the year for your Livonia neighbors-inneed who come to St. Genevieve-St. Maurice Parish for help.

After you have placed a donation in the box on the stand, hang an ornament on the tree. Let’s turn our giving Tree into a shining testament of our living faith!

What is the Changing Lives Together Initiative and what are it’s goals?

Changing Lives Together is about creating a stronger future for the Catholic Church in The Archdiocese of Detroit and our collective ability to do God’s work. By working together to achieve this shared mission and by combining our time, talent, and treasure, we will be blessed with:

Strengthened Parishes

Strengthened Catholic Education

Strengthened Formation of our Priests, our Seminarians, and our Lay Leaders

Strengthened Church Ministry in the City of Detroit

The Changing Lives Together Initiative has been conducted in five waves of individual parish campaigns. Consultants from the firm of O’Meara, Ferguson, Whelan, and Conway have been providing personalized training and support for each parish. St. Genevieve- St. Maurice Parish is a part of the fifth wave.

The fundraising target for each parish is based on 90 percent of its annual offertory collection. Parishioners are asked to make pledges to their parish campaign to be fulfilled within three years. Each wave of parishes will take about six months to complete.

Because strengthening parishes is the top priority of Changing Lives Together, 70 percent of campaign funds raised in each parish will stay in the parish to meet parish priorities. The remaining 30 percent will enhance archdiocesan tuition assistance in Catholic schools, strengthen priestly formation and lay leadership training, preserve Church ministries in Detroit, and cover initiative expenses.

For more information, visit the AOD website
