Anointing

“So they went out and preached that all should repent. And they cast out demons, and anointed with oil many that were sick and healed them.” Mk:6:12-13

“In my name … they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mk16:17-18

“The Anointing of the Sick ‘is not a sacrament for those only who are at the point of death. Hence, as soon as anyone of the faithful begins to be in danger of death from sickness or old age, the fitting time for (them) to receive this sacrament has certainly already arrived.” CCC1514

“If a sick person who received this anointing recovers (their) health, (they) can in the case of another grave illness receive this sacrament again. … It is fitting to receive the Anointing of the Sick just prior to a serious operation. The same holds for elderly whose frailty becomes more pronounced.” CCC1515
